With the generous support of our corporate members, the Walker has become one of the most visited contemporary art centers in the United States. Nearly 700,000 visitors come to the Walker each year for various events and programs. More than a museum, the Walker:
  • Partners with about 100 local arts and community organizations each year such as Harriet Tubman Women’s Center, La Familia Guidance Center, and the YWCA
  • Offers free admission to low-income families and educational programs for families through Free First Saturdays, Free Thursdays, and our Explore Memberships
  • Provides teens with space and resources to develop teen-oriented programming through our model Teen Programs and Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council
  • Supports emerging artists and artists-in-residence who work with neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis/St. Paul to address and document civic and social issues through art.
